Indian payroll changed. Your payroll system should have too.
The Code on Wages rewrote how basic pay, PF, gratuity and exit settlements are calculated. NavoraHR handles the new rules and the old ones, across every state you operate in, in a single monthly run.
No credit card. Setup in under a day.
On 21 November 2025, four Labour Codes replaced 29 central labour statutes. Central Rules followed on 8 May 2026. For payroll, three changes do the real damage, and all three are structural rather than cosmetic.
Basic pay plus dearness allowance must now make up at least half of total remuneration. Where allowances run higher, the excess is pulled back into wages for statutory purposes. PF, gratuity, bonus and leave encashment all recompute on the larger base.
NavoraHR models the new structure against your existing CTC, shows the revised liability per employee before you commit, and applies it from the cycle you choose.
Full and final settlement is now due within two working days of an employee leaving. A settlement that waits for next month’s payroll run no longer complies.
NavoraHR calculates notice pay, leave encashment, gratuity, recoveries and statutory dues on the day the exit is recorded, and releases an off-cycle payout without waiting for the cycle.
Several states have notified final rules. Several have not. A company operating in four states is currently running four rule sets at once.
NavoraHR applies the correct rule set per employee based on work location, and updates each state as its notification lands.
Illustrative: basic pay plus DA measured against total monthly remuneration. Statutory exclusions and state rules are applied in the product.
Attendance, leave, LOP, overtime and reimbursements arrive on their own. Calculate, review the exceptions the system flags, approve, and transfer straight to your team’s bank accounts.
Branded payslips generate and send the moment a run closes. The self-service portal answers the questions before they reach your HR inbox.
Most payroll teams discover their TDS shortfall in the last quarter and spend January reconciling. NavoraHR projects the full year from the first cycle and adjusts as declarations, proofs and revisions come in.
Claims arrive from the app with receipts attached, move through approval, and go out with the next run. Or the same day, if waiting is not an option.
The salary register, payroll register, bank advice, statutory challans and MIS your finance team asks for, generated the moment a run closes.
Multi-state statutory rules, calculated to slab and filed to schedule. No separate compliance fee, no consultant retainer for routine filings.
Employee master, salary structures, CTC components, statutory registrations and policy rules configured once.
Attendance, leave, LOP, overtime, incentives and reimbursements captured, or pulled from your existing HRMS or biometric system.
Earnings, deductions, taxes and statutory contributions computed against your configured rules.
Pre-finalisation checks flag missing, inconsistent or unusual data before anything is committed.
The run moves through your configured maker-checker workflow for HR and management sign-off.
Payslips, salary statements and registers generate on approval.
Bank transfer files and payout instructions issued in your bank’s format.
Challans, returns, registers and MIS produced for filing and for the board pack.
Payroll, attendance and cost data read from one ledger. Month-end reconciliation stops being a project.
Inputs flow in from attendance and leave automatically. No exports, no reconciliation, no spreadsheet chain.
Statutory registers, filing history and a complete audit trail, produced on demand rather than assembled under pressure.
Same date every month, with every deduction itemised in a portal they can reach themselves.
Payslips, Form 16 and tax sheets land in the app the instant payroll closes.
Tap any deduction to see how PF, PT and TDS were computed on your actual numbers.
Salary hits the account on schedule whether or not anyone in HR is at their desk.
See old and new side by side on your real salary and pick the one that costs you less.
Photograph a receipt in the app and it flows into your next payout.
When the wage rules shift your basic pay and PF, the payslip shows the before and after instead of leaving you to guess.
Attendance, LOP and arrears flow in on their own. One review, then approve.
Contributions computed, challans generated, returns prepped every cycle, across every state you operate in.
Payroll, attendance and finance read the same ledger. No month-end diffs to chase.
Build allowances, reimbursements, variable pay and revised wage structures however your policy and the law require.
Every override stamped, approved and retained for inspection.
Statutory changes and state notifications applied at source, not through a support ticket.
Indian payroll compliance is central law plus state law plus notification timing. Below is what the system computes, files and maintains.
Applies the unified wage definition, tests structures against the 50% wage floor, and flags employees whose allowances trigger add-back.
Computes PF and ESI on the revised wage base, provisions gratuity including one-year eligibility for fixed-term employees.
Employee and employer contributions calculated and deducted monthly. ECR generated for EPFO filing.
Contributions computed for eligible employees. Returns prepared for ESIC on schedule.
State-specific slabs applied by work location, deducted and remitted to the correct authority.
Employee and employer LWF contributions applied where the state mandates them, on the state’s own cycle.
Monthly TDS under Section 192, quarterly Form 24Q, annual Form 16, investment declarations under Form 12BB, previous employer income under Form 12B.
Gratuity provisioned monthly and settled on exit at the current wage definition.
Statutory bonus calculated against eligibility limits and disbursed through payroll.
Salary structures validated against applicable central and state notifications, with alerts when an employee falls below.
A straightforward 50-person single-state payroll can be configured and running its first cycle inside a day. Complexity changes that, and it is better to say so than to promise a number that does not hold.
